I am very, very rarely going to be on the console, so I don't want most of the "extra tools" bundled with AV products (mail scanning, web-malware detection, and so on) just file and memory anti-virus protection without bogging the machine down. Because of this naive AV/disk tools could do more harm than good.

Now I am getting some new hardware and want to upgrade the software.įirst I thought I could buy it on-line, direct from Microsoft and download an ISO. I have been using the original WHS for a few years and have been very happy with it. I am also trying to buy WHS 2011 in Canada. That product is available only on US site of Microsoft, and it is missing anywhere else - not a good sign It looks like Microsoft doesn't want to distribute WHS 2011 outside US right now. They do not provide any info when the product would have stock.
